Infection was not confirmed in siblings believed to be patients of monkeypox, doctors said this

Monkeypox Threat: In Yamunanagar, Haryana, the infection was not confirmed in two minor siblings undergoing treatment as a suspected patient of monkeypox. A doctor gave this information on Sunday. A two and a half year old boy and his one and a half year old sister were admitted to Yamunanagar Civil Hospital. Where he was kept in isolation made for the patients of monkeypox.

Yamunanagar Civil Surgeon Dr. Manjeet Singh told PTI-Bhasha over phone, “Their reports have come, both have not been found infected.” And there were blisters. The report of the investigation came on Sunday.

What did the doctor say?
The doctor said that according to the patients, there were rashes on their skin and some of them dried up. There were red rashes on the skin. Both also had fever. We started his treatment and his samples were sent to AIIMS in Delhi. There too the infection was not confirmed in both the patients.

If not monkeypox then what is the disease of the patients? – Doctor
When asked what is the disease, the doctor said, “It seems to be a bacterial infection. Since the rash was very high, we were treating them as suspicious (monkeypox). His parents are labourers.

How will doctors treat patients now?
Doctor Manjit Singh said that he got information about monkeypox-like symptoms in children and they were brought to the hospital in an ambulance for treatment. The doctor said that we have also called skin specialists for further investigation.
