Indian Railways Hand Held Terminal: Indian Railways has taken a very good initiative keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers. Railways have equipped TTE with Hand Held Terminal machines for better convenience of passengers. In such a situation, the arbitrariness of TTE will not be able to run in passenger trains. Passengers will not even need to plead in front of the TTE for the berth to travel in the train. TTEs running in mail and express trains will now keep hand held machines with them, so that the details of vacant seats can be seen easily. This facility has been started in two trains on the Faridabad route. These machines have been given to many checking staff of North Central Railway.

HHT Machine i.e. Hand Terminal Machine is a kind of digital device. With the availability of this machine, the details of each seat will be online.

Indian Railways Initiatives

Indian Railways has given the facility of reservation in the train itself to the passengers through the Hand Held Terminal (HHT) when the seat is vacant. Not only this, now the TTE will not be able to arbitrarily if the seats are vacant because the details will be online. In this, the data of all the passengers making reservation will be available. Railway employees ie TTE will now be paperless. These machines have been given to TTE in two trains of Faridabad route. In the coming time, this machine will be made available in all mail and express trains so that there is no inconvenience to the passengers.

Information about vacant seats will be easily available

Many times it happens in the train that passengers are unable to travel under any compulsion. Now in such a situation, information about the vacant seat will be easily available. Any passenger will now be able to make a reservation for that vacant seat. There will be no need to request from TTE in this. According to Deepak Kumar, Chief PRO of Northern Railway, this facility has started from New Delhi to Agra Cantt and Agra Cantt to New Delhi 14211/12. Apart from this, this facility has also been started in train number 12279 and 12280 Taj Express going from New Delhi to MP i.e. Veerangana Lakshmibai of Madhya Pradesh.

What are the advantages of hand held machine?

This machine will also prove to be very helpful regarding the passenger fare in Indian Railways. Along with this, information about passengers with waiting list or passengers in cancellation mode will also be available through HHT digital device. If the PNR is forgotten in some way, then the details of the passengers regarding the journey will be available in the name of the passenger. This machine is connected to the main server of the train passenger reservation system. The incident of TTE’s arbitrariness and selling of seats can be curbed through this machine.
