Money Laundering Case: A special court in Mumbai has extended the custody of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) till August 8. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case. At the same time, Sanjay Raut also made some serious allegations against the ED.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, who was arrested through the ED in a money laundering case, told a special court in Mumbai that during his custody, the central agency kept him in a room with no windows. When the court asked Sanjay Raut that do you have a complaint against the ED? On this the Shiv Sena leader told the court that there is no ventilation where I am kept. I have heart problem, because of this it is difficult to breathe. This is happening due to lack of ventilation.

Raut also said that there is a fan where he is kept at night. Describing it as serious, the court questioned the ED. On the allegations of Sanjay Raut, it was said from the Enforcement Directorate that he (Sanjay Raut) is being kept in AC. On this, the court asked Raut whether there is an AC installed, on which Sanjay Raut said that I did not see, there is a fan there. Raut also said that I do not run AC, because I have difficulty in breathing. On which the court asked the ED whether there is any other room where ventilation can be found.

Court extended custody

Extending the custody, the court said the ED has made “substantial progress” in the investigation. The central agency had arrested Raut on Sunday midnight in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the redevelopment of Patra ‘Chal’ in suburban Goregaon and financial transactions involving property of his wife and alleged associates. The court had on Monday sent Raut to ED custody till August 4. After the end of his custody, the ED handed over Raut to the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court judge M.G. Deshpande and requested for extension of his custody for further investigation.
