Heroine smuggling gang busted, 2 crore recovered, one dies while escaping

Udhampur Police: Jammu Police has busted a gang involved in drug dealing. In fact, in Udhampur district of Jammu Police, a drug smuggler has been arrested with heroine and about Rs 2 crore in cash. When the police chased one of the smuggler’s accomplices to nab him, he started running from the spot, who while escaping collided with a vehicle and died.

Jammu ADGP Mukesh Singh said that on Wednesday, Udhampur police was patrolling near Gol Mela petrol pump in the district. While on patrol, he saw two people roaming there under suspicious circumstances. As soon as the eyes of these two people fell on the police, they started running from there towards the main highway. While running on the highway, one of these two people was hit by an unknown vehicle after which he was seriously injured. The injured person was immediately shifted to the District Hospital Udhampur by the police, from where he was referred to the Government Medical College, Jammu. But he died during treatment.
Both the accused were involved in drug trade
The slain person has been identified as Mukhtiar Ahmed, a resident of Kupwara in the Kashmir Valley. At the same time, the second person involved in this incident has been arrested by the police, who has been identified as Jagtar Singh of Tarn Taran district of Punjab. After the arrest of Jagtar Singh, during the search of his vehicle, the police recovered two hundred and fifty grams of heroin and one crore 91 lakh 34 thousand 30 rupees from that vehicle. During preliminary interrogation, it has come to light that both these accused were involved in drug dealing. The police have registered a case in this case under various sections.
