According to a report, information is being received that due to the heavy rains and floods so far this year, more than six lakh farmers have been affected in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. The report said that crops of about 3.80 lakh hectares of land owned by farmers have been severely damaged.

Revenue department team conducted survey

According to the report, a total of 46 people have also died in rain-related incidents in Marathwada region including Aurangabad, Beed, Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Osmanabad and Parbhani. At present, according to an official, the survey of 1,73,717 hectares of land has been completed by the team of Revenue Department. Which is 45.85 percent of the total affected area.

462.3 mm of rain fell in Marathwada region

According to the Meteorological Department, it has been told that the Marathwada region of Maharashtra has received 462.3 mm of rain so far this year. Whereas the average here is 296.2 mm. According to the report of the Revenue Department team, Nanded was the most affected district, due to heavy rains, 2,98,861.19 hectares of land was affected here.

6.23 lakh farmers affected

According to the report, it has been told that due to heavy rains and floods in eight districts of Marathwada region, 6.23 lakh farmers of 3,78,866.19 hectares of land were affected. According to this report, a total of 660 animals were killed in rain-related incidents in the Marathwada region.
