Governor’s rule in BTC constitutional : Kokrajhar MP Naba Sarania

The MP of Kokrajhar Naba Kumar Sarania and the chief of the Gana Surakha Party (GSP) as termed the Governor’s rule in BTC constitutional as the legal 6th sechdule of the constitutions.

Hence Sarania added that he is optimistic about the change in rule for the upcoming general election for the BTC.

He also said that “the pandemic will delay the polls”

The polls were scheduled to be held on April 5th as per the date. But this probably there to be changed.

Sarania said later that “It is not feasible to hold polls any time soon and it is most likely to be pushed further to September-October,” .

 The election is not that far. Referring to the writE petition by BPF leaders Nerswn Boro and Jagadish Sarkar in Gauhati High Court challenging the constitutional validity of the Governor’s rule in the Council. Sarania has added that the governor has assumed to make himself the council of the 6th schedule of the council and the contention of BPF that they have made have been turned by the court.
