Ferry services between Guwahati- North Guwahati has been suspended till June 30

In the wake of rising water level of the Brahmaputra, ship benefits among Guwahati and North Guwahati and handling of any vehicle in stream Brahmaputra will stay suspended till June 30 night subject to the downturn of the water level.

The ship administration among Guwahati and North Guwahati has been disturbed because of the rising water level since May 29. The suspension was expanded twice after that.

“Because of the persistent ascending of water level of Brahmaputra, the suspension of employing of vehicles in the waterway Brahmaputra at Kamrup (Metro) area is thus stretched out till June 30 night to stay away from any untoward occurrences,” expressed a Kamrup (Metro) region organization warning on Thursday.

The Kamrup (Metro) organization has mentioned Inland Water Transport (IWT) office to screen the condition.

In the interim, the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) was likewise coordinated to organize with the IWT office and mastermind vital transport administration to North Guwahati.

“The River Police, Kamrup (M) is mentioned to screen the development of every unlawful pontoon to decrease the danger of vessel overturn,” the request included.

The water level of Brahmaputra in Guwahati is continually rising and on Thursday morning, the water was recorded at 49.15 M against the threat level of 49. 68 M.
