Draft EIA will destroy state’s biodiversity, says Ripun Bora

The draft EIA (Environment Impact Assessment) Notification, 2020 gave by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is an outline arranged by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to pulverize the biodiversity of Assam, state Congress president Ripun Bora said on August sixth, 2020.

“EIA-2020 encourages post-facto leeway which mean the unlawful coal mining in Assam will presently persuade an opportunity to be legitimized by the BJP,” Bora tweeted.

The Leader of the Opposition, Assam Legislative Assembly, Debabrata Saikia July 28th, 2020 ran off a letter to the Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar disclosing his issues with the draft Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). This was the most recent in the trading of letters between the two on the draft EIA.
