Delhi Government New Scheme: The 39th board meeting of the Delhi Construction Welfare Board was organized on Monday under the chairmanship of Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister and Labor Minister Manish Sisodia. In the meeting, there was a discussion on bringing some new scheme for the construction workers. In which ‘Doctor on Wheel Scheme’ for Routine Medical Checkup of construction workers at the construction site itself. Upgrading of its website by the Construction Workers Welfare Board is also included so that the mobile crches and workers have easy access to the facilities provided by the government. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia instructed the officials that all these new schemes should be started at the earliest so that construction workers can get its benefits.

The Delhi government is about to start the Doctor on Wheels scheme for construction workers. Under this scheme, along with organizing medical check-up camps in every district, mobile vans in every district will visit various construction sites for routine check-up of construction workers. The government is going to start a mobile crche equipped with various modern facilities at the construction site under another important plan. Where the children of the workers will be able to get the best day care at the construction site itself. Let us inform that a free travel scheme has also been started by the government for construction workers. Where construction workers are provided passes to travel free in DTC buses.

Board will start new website soon
In the meeting, the officials told that at present more than 17 lakh applications have been received with the board for getting the labor card made. In such a situation, in order to ensure that only the eligible people get its benefit, the Labor Minister directed the officers to get the social audit done by an independent agency. For this, a 2-member committee will be formed which will send its proposal to the board for audit and the audit will be done accordingly. Recently, a surprise inspection of the labor office located at Ashok Vihar was done by the Labor Minister. Labor Minister Manish Sisodia had also sacked many employees after finding irregularities here. The board is also going to start a new website soon, in order that the workers should not face any kind of problem in taking advantage of the various schemes made by the government.

Training will be given to construction workers
A training program named ‘Kushal Karmi’ is being run by the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University for the upskilling of construction workers by the Kejriwal government. Where construction workers are given training on the construction site itself. The progress of this skill program was reviewed by Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia. Where officials said that at present this program is being run in pilot phase with 200 construction workers at 3 construction sites and its good results are being seen. Upskilling 2 lakh construction workers will be done through various construction sites run by PWD, DDA, DMRC etc. Explain that the construction workers who complete this 120-hour training are provided with a certificate of the course and a tool-kit.

17 schemes have been started for the welfare of construction workers
Delhi Government has started 17 schemes for the betterment of construction workers. The construction workers registered with the board get the benefit of these schemes. Under these schemes, construction workers will get Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh for house construction, Rs. 30 thousand in maternity scheme, Rs. 20 thousand loan for purchase of tools and Rs. 5 thousand assistance, natural death of workers. But 1 lakh and 2 lakh on accidental death, 1 lakh in case of disability and 3 thousand rupees per month pension, 500 to 10 thousand rupees per month for school education and higher education of children, workers and For the marriage of their children, an assistance amount of 35 thousand to 51 thousand rupees is given as pension, an assistance amount of 3 thousand rupees per month is given. Officials said that last year, 2440 construction workers were given assistance amounting to about Rs 13 crore under the claims of various schemes.
