[ad_1]
Maharashtra Politics: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said that the “real” Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will fight the upcoming civic polls together in the state. Shinde leads the rebel faction of Shiv Sena. He said at an event in Thane that the rebel faction represents the ‘real’ Shiv Sena.
Shinde said on Saturday night that the BJP and Shiv Sena will contest the upcoming civic polls in alliance in all places, including Thane. It is noteworthy that elections are to be held in many municipal corporations of the state including Mumbai in the coming months. Shinde’s announcement assumes significance as many of the rebel 40 MLAs hail from Mumbai and metropolitan areas and could dent the traditional Marathi ‘vote bank’ of the Shiv Sena.
Voters will make the right choice
Regarding Thane Municipal Corporation, the Chief Minister said that Shiv Sena is ruling Thane for the last 25 years and voters will make the right choice. It is worth noting that in the year 2019, BJP and Shiv Sena had contested the assembly elections together and got a majority, but later the two parties parted ways on the issue of the chief minister’s post.
‘Following Balasaheb’s words’
MLA from Kopri-Pachpakhadi in Thane district Eknath Shinde Said that (Shiv Sena founder) Balasaheb Thackeray always wanted a BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. He never wanted the Shiv Sena to be associated with the Congress or the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). We are following Balasaheb’s words. BJP and Shiv Sena are also in power in the state.
