There is a certain need of a back up striker for Harry Kane. In last few years we have seen Kane getting injured because of overloaded game time. According to a report by The Sun, Tottenham are the front runners to sign Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson if the Cherries are relegated later today.
Bournemouth need a miracle later this afternoon if they wish to retain their Premier League status, not only do they need to beat Everton at Goodison Park but they also require both Aston Villa and Watford lose their respective matches. Now this could be a great singing for both Wilson and Spurs. Callum can look for staying in premier league and Spurs can get a good striker who can back Harry Kane.
The Sun claim that the club will let Wilson leave this summer if they are relegated. It is suggested that Eddie Howe’s side are keen to get the England international off their wage bill, with the striker’s £110,000-a-week salary said to be too much for Bournemouth to afford if they go down.
It is said that the 28-year-old could be available for as little as £10million when the transfer market opens on Monday, with Spurs currently regarded as the favourites for his signature.
The report asserts that the North Londoners consider Wilson as an ideal back up to Harry Kane and Daniel Levy will launch a quick offer for the striker if Bournemouth fail to beat the drop.
