Assam’s B. Borooah College wins the National Service Scheme Award



The NSS unit of Assam’s B. Borooah College won the National Service Scheme Award or NSS Award 2020-21 on Saturday. The award was presented by President Droupadi Murmu at Darbar Hall in Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.
Principal of B. Borooah College Dr Satyendra Nath Barman, and College Programme Officer Dr Satyabrata Baruah received the award from the President. Besides, two universities, 10 NSS Units, Programme Officers and 30 NSS Volunteers received the award from President Murmu.

Speaking to the media, Principal of B. Borooah College Dr Satyendra Nath Barman said, “My friend Dr Satyabrat Baruah, the program officer, and I received this award from President Draupadi Murmu which has brought laurels to B. Baruah College, and the state. Also, the B. Borooah College is the only college to receive this award in Assam.”

The NSS Awards is organised every year by the
Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports to commemorate the contributions of voluntary services made by universities and colleges in the country.
