Specially when we see they not getting their rights.The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS), which is the largest workers union planting the state, urged has the industry tea to pay the maximum bonus bid 20% to tea workers.The garden workers union insisted that the tea gardens must pay the bid bond at least three weeks before the festival of Durga puja.
The minimum bonus for plantation workers under the Bond Payment Act 1965 is 8.33%, while the maximum speed is set at 20%.
All permanent and temporary workers, who have worked for a minimum period of 30 days are entitled to the benefit.
“We have already published a letter to the Power Association Assam India Tea (ABITA), Assam Tea Planters Association (ATPA), Tea Association Oriental Norte (NETA), Bharatiya Cha Parishad (BCP) and the Association of tea India ( TAI) asking them to ensure 20% bonus to workers, “ACMS general secretary Rupesh Gowala said.
