Arunodoi scheme 2020 :This is a great scheme. As the Government of Assam has announced a new scheme to provide assistance to poor families and economically backward in the state. This plan statewide financial assistance has been named as “Arunodoi / Oronodoi Scheme”. The announcement of the launch of the Scheme Arunodoi 2020 was initially made by the current finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Assam. in his speech on the 2020-21 budget in March 2020. It is one of the government schemes of the flagship 18 Assam.

The Department of Finance Government of Assam is the authority responsible for the deployment, implementation and monitoring of this scheme. It is one of the largest schemes providing financial support from the state through which will benefit about 19 families poor and economically backward lakh.

‘Orunodoi’ or Arunodoi scheme is a new scheme of Government of Assam to be released on October 2, 2020. scheme ‘Orunodoi’ will provide financial assistance of Rs. 830 per month via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme around 17 lakh families in the state. They will receive the amount on the first day of each month from October 2020. Women are primary caretaker of the family remain as beneficiaries of the regime.

Features of Arunodoi Scheme 2020

Assam government is providing Rs 830 per month each to 17 lakh families under this ‘Orunodoi’ Scheme.
Support of Rs 830 a month will mean an additional income per year of Rs 10,000 poor households to meet their medical and nutritional needs.
An amount of Rs 2,800 crore is intended to Arunodoi Scheme (Scheme Orunodoi) in the budget this year.
The amount will be sent by the TDC to the bank account nominated family woman.
The selection of beneficiaries to start on August 17, 2020.
Beneficiaries will receive the amount on the first day of each month, from October 2020.
It must benefit all poor households if they are covered by NFSA or not.
Under this initiative, the State has made a commitment to alleviate the financial problems of impoverished families in Assam through ‘Support for substantial revenue’. Women are primary caretaker of the family remain as beneficiaries of the regime.

Arunodoi Assam Scheme Eligibility

1. The applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam.
ii. The applicant must be currently residing in Assam.
iii. Compound income of the applicant household must be less than Rs. 2 lakh per year.
iv. The beneficiary (nominated female member) must have a bank account in the name bank records must match the schema records. In case, the recipient does not have a bank account, then a bank account to be opened would be required before the date of approval of the application.

Under this scheme, priority will be given to households with

▶ Widow / Single / / single woman separated female
▶ Especially with female nominee capabilities
▶ Specially abled household member

They will be excluded the following types of households:

a) Households that do not have a female member.
b) Households with any former or current MLA / MP.
c) Households with current members of the PRI / ULB.
d) Households with any regular serving or retired government employees.
e) Households with any regular employees portion Cooperative Societies.
f) Households with some doctors, engineers, lawyers, accountant, architects and contractors registered by the government.
g) Households with any tax-income beneficiary.
h) Households that own more than 15 bighas of agricultural land.
i) Households that have four wheels, mechanized boat and tractor.
j) Households that own refrigerator / washing machine or air conditioning.

How to Apply for Arunodoi Assam Scheme?

Details of Applicant
It include Name, age , gender, full address detail, contact number, etc.
Family Details of Applicant
Includes name, gender, age, relationship status and priority status of each family member
Bank Account details of Applicant
Include Bank Name, Branch name, Account Number, IFSC Code and Annual Family income.

Applicants must submit a detailed application (DAF) in order to take advantage of the benefit. The application procedure is online, but from now on any online portal is available. Only a PDF of the application form is available and the link of the same is given below in this section. The finance department of Assam will soon launch an online portal and dashboard for this scheme so that applicants can submit their applications, status check, list of beneficiaries and other information on this scheme.
