Amit Shah’s visit to Karnataka, meeting with CM Bommai and BS Yediyurappa

Karnataka Politics: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Bengaluru on his Karnataka tour. It is said that during his Karnataka visit, Union Home Minister Amit Shah discussed the recent developments and organizational issues of the party with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and senior BJP leaders of the state. Shah also held discussions with state BJP stalwart and former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa. He had arrived here on Wednesday night to participate in today’s ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ program of the Confederation of Indian Industry on the 75th year of India’s independence.

According to sources, Shah discussed the recent communal killings, including the murder of BJP worker Pravin Nettar. Nettar was murdered in Dakshina Kannada district following which the party and Yuva Morcha staged widespread protests at several places and their members resigned. Expressing their displeasure, Hindutva thinkers and organizations accused the state government of not standing up for the protection of Hindu workers.

Kateel took over as the state president from Yediyurappa in August, 2019.
Assembly elections may be held in May next year
Shah’s meeting with Yediyurappa is significant in the sense that he (Shah) signaled the end of his innings in electoral politics with the statement that if the party fielded his son B Y Vijayendra from his constituency Shikaripura in the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections. If she takes off, she will vacate this seat.
