An earthquake of slight intensity measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck in middle Assam Monday night and Tuesday. The quake struck at 1.28 am at a depth of 10 kilometers of latitude 26 degrees north and 346 degrees east longitude 91.338 East with its epicenter in northwestern Hajo in Kamrup district of the state, MET officials said.
As the earthquake lasted only a few seconds and occurred at midnight, many people were not aware of it. There were no AOF any damage due to the earthquake.
