Carbines For Indian Army: Carbines will be manufactured indigenously for the three parts of the Indian Army, Army, Navy and Air Force. Under the plan, there is a plan to make 4.2 lakh carbines for the three services, for this more than five thousand crore rupees will be spent. Carbines for the army in such an increased number will be manufactured in collaboration with public or private sector companies. For this, there is a plan to contract with two companies.

The government seems completely dedicated to providing indigenously manufactured weapons to the Indian Army. Therefore, India canceled contracts worth $ 2.5 billion to buy foreign weapons from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and South Korea. India has now decided to self-manufacture 4.2 lakh indigenous carbines for the three armies under “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.

This is the plan for carbine manufacturing

Let us tell you that the Indian Army is in urgent need of more than one lakh carbines at this time. Therefore, it is planned to start this work as soon as possible under the fast track process to complete the supply of carbines in India. There are plans to give contracts to two private or public sector companies for producing such an increased number of carbines.

According to sources, the highest bidder can get an order to make more than 2 lakh carbines, while the work of making the remaining carbines can be given to another company. Actually, the motive behind this is only to get the carbine delivered to the Indian soldiers as soon as possible. For this, the Army, Air Force and Navy are planning to work together to design and develop this weapon.

Let us tell you that in the year 2021, India and Russia signed a deal worth Rs 5,124 crore for the AK-203 assault rifle. India was to produce more than six lakh assault rifles at the Korwa Ordnance Factory in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh with the help of Russia, but so far this plan is hanging in the balance.
